Solar Activity
Solar activity was at high levels. The largest flare of the period was an X2.3 at 06/1340 UTC from Region 3883 (S07E01, Ekc/beta-gamma-delta). Regions 3883 and new Region 3889 (S10E73, Dkc/beta-delta) both contributed to a total of 14 M-class flares. Region 3883 continued to show growth, particularly within its intermediate area. Region 3889 is just rotating around the SE limb, but initial observations showed a compact spot group with a delta magnetic configuration. The rest of the spotted regions were relatively stable or in decay.
Solar Wind
Solar wind parameters decreased to nominal levels. Solar wind speed decreased from approximately 460 km/s to near 385 km/s. Total field ranged from 1-5 nT while the Bz component was between +3/-4 nT. Phi angle was variable.
Energetic Particle
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux has been at normal to moderate levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux has remained at background levels.
